The last week I spent in Delhi and experienced hell-ish heat for the first time. Up until now ‘Delhi heat’ was something of a fantastical nightmare. It was six days of headaches and air-conditioned living, which I hate. The only air-conditioning I can put up with is when the band is in a studio.
The band has been working real hard and its paying off. We have gigs lined-up and I can only reveal the venues once we have confirmation. Mumbai, Pune – get dressed. While I was in Delhi, I wrote two more songs – Zodiac, the Mystic and The Day before Last. We should start working on these two in weeks to come. With gigs at hand it’s difficult to write new material.
What else? Oh yea, so I’m lounging in the uber-cool Delhi airport and thought to myself – the male fantasy of sitting next to a cool, if not hot woman is just that – a fantasy, could never happen to me. And bham! 17E on SG223 was this pretty number. We spoke, and I realized that she was one of those who want to be ‘around’ artists (read: musicians, painters, writers, etc) for the booze, drugs and whatever else. However, I had two and a half hours to kill and I killed it.
It was great coming back home to Bangalore. The weather, a drizzle and a cool breeze, simply made me go ape. Landed up at rehearsals, pretty good set lined up for a gig we have coming up on the 1st of July at Stones, a pub on 100ft road in Indiranagar. Also there are rumors flying about that we may be playing at the Indira Gandhi Musical Fountain Park, opposite the Planetarium in Bangalore - this will be on Sunday, the 5th of July. It is supposedly a tribute gig to one of Bangalore’s earliest concert promoters – SunBeam Motha.
Anyhoo, droogs, hope to see y’all at the gigs!
Until the next time, stay tuned to the ether.
Godspeed.
